I completed a degree in Graphic Design & Advertising at Newcastle College of Art & Industrial Design in 1967 after first studying on the Foundation Course at Middlesbrough College of Art. Once graduated, I worked in Advertising and Graphic Design agencies in London before becoming a freelance designer from 1974 to 1993. |

| At this point I decided to make a career change and joined Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College where I built up a thriving BA Illustration course before becoming Head of the 2-Dimensional Design Department and running the MA courses in Illustration and Printmaking. |

| This change rekindled an interest in printmaking and in particular linocutting, woodcutting and letterpress printing. |
