I was born in Middlesbrough, just two streets from the Boro’s old ground Ayresome Park. I worked at Ayresome Park in the half-time scoreboard when it was above the ‘Bob End’ putting up the half-time scores and when Boro were playing an away match putting the Boro away score up every fifteen minutes to cheers or groans depending on the state of play at Bury, Lincoln, Blackburn, Newcastle or Sunderland.
As far as I am aware being born in Middlesbrough Maternity Hospital meant that you were given a Boro ‘jab’ at birth.
All of the Football prints and cards are inspired by my home town football club and its fans. They mirror the funny and sardonic view that you must have to be a Boro supporter through thick, thin and a cup.
